一、任务的设计要有目的性
学生的学习活动应具有明确的目标和具体操作要求。在开展教学活动之前,教师必须布置好上课时将用到的相关知识、语言材料,使学生在明确的目的下去预习、去准备,从而获得相关知识,训练语言。如在教学八年级上册 Unit 9“When was he born?” 的第一课时,话题主要围绕谈论名人,可充分利用这个主题,根据学生喜欢追随新鲜事物,对歌星、球星、电影明星较为感兴趣的心理特点,在教学本课之前,可给学生布置“pre-task”,要求学生对自己所喜欢的各类明星的外貌、性格、职业、出生年月以及爱好等方面的图片、个人相关材料或相关网络信息进行搜集,上课时要求把他们自己所收集的图片、材料、信息等资料都拿出来进行分组交流。由于学生对名人比较熟悉,他们有话可说,有事可做,课堂上讨论热烈,气氛活跃,学生参与欲和表现欲强,课堂教学很快进入。就这样,学生在教师预设的教学目的、真实模拟情景中体会语言、掌握语言,并在快乐中完成了学习任务。
二、任务的设计要有趣味性
学生的学习兴趣与学习效果和兴趣爱好密切相关。因此,教师在设计教学活动时应尽量贴近学生的生活经验和兴趣。如在教学七年级上册Unit 6“Do you like bananas?”的第一课时,在这pre-task阶段,可把apples,bananas,pears,oranges,hamburgers,cakes…等水果和食品放在一个手提袋里,然后把袋子放在讲台上,接着就问学生:Who can guess?What are they?If you guess them out,I will give them to you. 这时学生们就跃跃欲试、尽力猜想,“I think it’s an apple.”“I think it’s a cake.”“I think it’s a pear.”当水果和食品一一被猜出之后,又问学生:Do you like it?Does he/she like it? 这时学生就抢着回答:I like it very much. He/She doesn’t like it at all. 通过让学生猜测食物,来导入这课的主题“food”,“likes and dislikes”,从而激发学生的兴趣和学习欲望。学生争先恐后大胆猜测,气氛活跃,自然进入预设情景中,为一节好课做了铺垫。用贴近学生生活实际而设计的教学活动来唤起学生的学习兴趣,并且达到运用英语进行交际的目的。
三、任务的设计要有真实性
在英语课堂教学中要尽量创造真实或接近于真实的环境,让学生尽可能多地接触和加工真实的语言信息,使他们在课堂上使用的语言和技能在实际生活中同样能得到有效的应用。如在教新目标英语七年级(下)Uint 2 “Where is the post office”时(要求学生掌握问路和指路的表达方式),可画一幅本市的地图,并用相机照了一些标志性建筑物的照片,制作成多媒体课件。当学生看到一张张精美的照片和真实动感的画面时,学生的注意力和兴趣立刻被唤起,他们无不为家乡的美丽而骄傲,更为家乡的巨变而自豪。接下来,教学方位介词next to,between,across,from,on等,然后让学生描述各种建筑物的不同方位,最后让学生问路及指示方向。学生在这一真实的情景中高度亢奋,争先恐后地表现自己,并在帮助他人的过程中体验到了成功与快乐。
四、任务的设计要有层次性
教师要从实际出发,针对学生的个性差异和智力发展情况,对不同层次的学生实施不同的任务要求,吸引全体学生参与,而不是让能力强和水平高的学生参与,这样任务型教学模式也就不会流于形式。如进行训练时,对于基础较差的学生,可要说出其中的人物、时间、地点或简单的一两句话;对于基础一般的学生可要求做True/False练习;对于成绩较好性格内向的学生可要求简要复述故事情节;对于成绩较好且外向的学生可要求表演。教师针对不同层次的学生提出不同的要求,可使每个学生都体验成功,从而激发其学习的兴趣。
五、任务的设计要有多样性
