我们现在生活在一个五彩缤纷、瞬息万变的世界里。随着改革开放和经济的迅猛发展，我们的生活如同“芝麻开花——节节高”。我从小跟爷爷生活在一起，现在的家和前几年相比，简直是天壤之别。过去，爷爷带着我和姐姐，依靠他那微薄的退休金生活。妈妈成天在外劳碌奔波，挣钱维持生计，可有时还得忍饥挨饿呢！现在，爷爷可不像以前那样常常为我们操碎了心，因为妈妈通过自己不懈地努力找到了称心如意的好工作，工资高，待遇好。我们的生活也像日新月异的城市建设那样发生了巨大的变化。
爷爷十分疼爱我们，为了让我与姐姐有一个良好的学习和生活环境，他拿出自己平时省吃俭用的钱，把那套老房子重新装修了，虽然比不上别人家的气派，但也让我们感到无比的温暖舒适。今年，妈妈为了我上学方便，用自己积攒的钱在爷爷生活的小区附近买了一套宽敞的商品房。搬家那天，我跑进新家一瞧，哇噻，家具全都是崭新的。我直奔过去，往那高档的真皮沙发上一坐，甭提有多爽呀！房间里精致的席梦思弹性十足，一躺下去就像幼儿时睡在摇篮里一样，很快就进入甜蜜的梦乡了。爷爷见自己的儿女事业有成，生活水平逐步提高，人仿佛一夜间年轻了十几岁。真是喜事连连啊！
我家不仅住的好，吃的也好。想想前几年，爷爷在地里种地瓜，我们几乎靠吃地瓜长大。现在可不同了，爷爷让大姨每天给我们做的饭菜，不仅品种多样、色香味美，而且营养丰富，称得上人间佳肴。舅舅的小女儿佳佳，成天吃着营养价值高的奶粉过着她那仙境般的幼年，我好羡慕，哪像我小时候只有吃米糊的份！逛超市时，我们经过摆满琳琅满目、色泽鲜艳的水果摊和诱人的食品架时，看见许多从未见过却让人垂涎欲滴的水果和零食时，大人们都会不假思索地买给我们吃，让我们过上天使般的生活。
现在过年时，大家买衣服都讲究时尚，还要有风格。妈妈给我们买衣服时都会带我们去精挑细选，把我们打扮得像古代皇宫里的小公主似的。商店里的衣服，款式新颖，各式各样，让人看得眼花缭乱。只要是我们满意的，即使再贵，妈妈也会毫不犹豫地买了下来。我穿着漂亮的衣服外出玩耍时，同伴们纷纷围着我问这问那，夸我真有福气。可是你是否知道，几年前，爷爷总是随便在地摊上买几件老土的衣服给我们穿，他告诉我们家底薄，能穿暖和就行了。
