旅行社管理课程比赛《旅行社管理》作为高校旅游管理专业的一门专业主干课程,在人才培养目标中占有重要地位。其课程目标是使学生在具备基本管理理论的基础上,能从宏观上对我国旅行社行业的发展现状和趋势进行思考和解读,从微观上掌握旅行社企业的运作流程和管理规范,成为旅行社行业既懂业务操作又懂企业管理的,善于发现、学习和思考的,具有创新精神的中、高级专门人才。

桂林理工大学旅游旅游管理专业创建于1985年,目前是国家级特色专业和广西重点学科,每年在全国招收120人左右的学生,在大三分为酒店、景区、旅行社三个专业方向。其旅游管理专业在2006年改为应用型本科,课程体系与原来相比有一定调整,各课程也以应用性为诉求进行了教学改革与调整,《旅行社管理》课程的调整改造正是在这一背景下进行的。

一、《旅行社管理》课程教学开展“旅游线路设计与模拟营销”比赛的实施过程

1.旅游线路产品设计。全班35人分为7组,自由组合,每组5人。各组针对本组选取的省(区、市、特别行政区),设计一条旅游线路(不允许超出所选行政区范围)。参加比赛的7条旅游线路设计好以后,挂在桂林理工大学旅游学院网上公开展示。

2.模拟营销。营销对象为旅游学院全体同学(以下称消费者),参赛的7组同学将以各种方法对本组旅游线路作营销推广。我们假设旅游学院每位有5000元消费额度,每组旅游线路都有最终报价,当35位同学之一对消费者营销推广时,消费者可以:(1)不消费;(2)出价为“最终报价±20%”(这是为了锻炼35位参赛同学的议价能力)。各小组的本环节得分为本组旅游线路所获得的模拟消费总额(消费额最高的小组得100分,其余各组按模拟消费总额的比例得分)。消费者进行模拟消费后应签字确认,并写明班级、宿舍,方便查证。

3.模拟同业推介。以上两个环节结束后,各小组在课堂模拟向旅行社同行(本班级同学)讲解与演示本组旅游线路,接受同学与教师质询与评分,教师与全体同学的评分各占同业推介得分的一半权重。

4.比赛计分。最后得分=模拟营销得分×70%+模拟同业推介得分×30%;本得分为《旅行社管理》课程的平时成绩。

整个比赛,共占用10课时,对《旅行社管理》课程的教学起到了良好的配合效果。以下从学生、教师、教学效果等三个方面进行效果分析。

二、成效分析

1.就学生角度而言,本次比赛激发了学生的学习主动性,增强学生间的协作能力,提高了学生的表达能力和沟通能力。《旅行社管理》课程与社会、行业发展联系紧密,实用性强,本次比赛既有现实的旅游线路设计,又有贴近社会和行业实际模拟销售与模拟同业推介,有利于营造轻松和谐的课堂氛围,激发学生的学习兴趣。在本课程比赛后的调查中,90%的同学认可这一教学方式,认为自己兴趣大为提高。在本次比赛中,教师从学的角度设计教学典型任务,具有明确的目标指向和操作要求,要求学生全员参与,在全国范围内收集旅游信息设计旅游线路,让学生积极运用所学知识大胆地进行发散创造,最大限度地调动了学生的主观能动性,亲身实践,提高学生分析、解决问题的能力,促进学习过程的自主化。比赛后的调查显示:95%的同学认为自己的市场推广能力大幅提高。

2.就教师而言,教师从传授知识变成了教学活动的设计者、指导者、评价者,在比赛过程中,通过了解学生的情况,不断发现问题,及时调整教学方式,这有利于提高教师教学水平和教学质量,达到教学相长的目的。据本人学期末的统计,在2012年4~6月本人任教的《旅行社管理》课程期间,课外时间学生共主动联系我20次,其中15次是在本次比赛期间。

3.就教学效果而言,达到了“以赛促教”目的。通过本次比赛,强调了以学生为主体,课堂教学从学习兴趣、行业需要出发,倡导体验、参与、合作与交流的学习方式,使学习过程成为学生发现问题、大胆实践、自主学习的过程,比赛完成的过程也是学生主体性得到提高、综合能力得到发展的过程,实现了教学过程的多赢。本次比赛对《旅行社管理》课程中产品设计、定价策略、销售渠道、促销等章节均有较大的辅助教学效果,实现了组织比赛前的“以赛促教”的预期目的。

三、存在的问题与改进对策

1.个别同学在小组中基本不参与工作,滥竽充数。本次比赛小组成员数为5人,本意为锻炼同学的协作沟通能力,但在这次比赛实践中出现了能者多劳甚至全劳,而不能者少劳甚至不劳的现象,一些小组能力突出的成员承担了多数产品设计和模拟营销的工作,而个别成员则滥竽充数,坐享其成。针对这一现象,作者提出的改进措施有:(1)缩小比赛小组成员人数,把5人改为3人,减小不劳者坐享其成的可能性。(2)在模拟同业推介进行演示介绍时,要求各小组以可以量化的形式报告每个成员所承担的工作,并由同学与教师对其质询以判断其工作质量,计入其个人平时成绩。

2.在模拟销售阶段,由于目标市场群体并非实际消费金钱,存在“人情消费”的现象。本次比赛的目标市场群体限制在桂林理工大学旅游学院其他年级专业的同学,本意为方便比赛宣传及促进旅游学院同学的知识面。但个别小组不对目标群体进行任何本小组旅游线路的宣讲,仅依靠人情关系要求对方签字认可消费额度,这样就是不可接受的了。对这样的问题,作者进行的改进为:(1)强调必须产品联系消费,依靠中立的学生社团进行调查核实,凡各小组提交的消费者确认名单须经校旅游协会向签字者进行该旅游线路问答,确定该消费者对相关旅游线路有所认识才有效;(2)重罚。凡提交的签字名单中,经检查有10%对相关旅游线路的了解不足的,则扣除一半消费额度。

3.在比赛中存在意气之争。由于比赛存在竞争,一些同学把日常矛盾带入比赛,在模拟同业推介环节中,把正常的质询当作发泄不满的机会,导致偏离主题,课堂时间拖延,影响教学质量。为避免出现这种情况,对教师的要求就有所提高:教师在课堂中的地位已不再是主导地位,教师应当将舞台让给学生,而教师只是本场演出的主持人和引导人。学生在讨论中冷场的时候,教师对学生加以鼓励和引导;学生在讨论中跑题的时候,教师对话题加以纠正,学生在讨论中过于繁琐,节奏过慢时,教师对时间加以控制。总之,教师的作用就是保证整个模拟同业推介按照原计划有节奏地进行。
